These are close up shots of the plants. To the left is Foxtail. It is bushy, kind of like a fox's tail. Hence the name. To the right is this grass like plant. The store had the grass like plant labeled as "Amazon Sword" but the stuff is really called "Brazilian Micro Sword". To the left of the grass like plant you can see some Elodea. The Elodea and Foxtail are known as "canal weeds" here in South Florida, as the drainage canals here are loaded with the stuff. The elodea in particular causes problems (it gets so thick that the water has a hard time flowing and the canals so not drain so well) - so much so that the State has to "mow" the canals with barges. Anyway, these plants should take the tank over. It will be a forest in there in time. The micro sword would probably like a more sand-like substrate, but that is just too bad. It will have to make do with what I have.

  

These are two more photos of the tank. So far it looks pretty good, it just needs fish.
